High School Criminal Justice Instructor Training (HSCJIT) Conference
The High School Criminal Justice Instructor Training (HSCJIT) conference is designed for high school teachers who teach Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, & Forensic Science courses.
We are a State Board for Educator Certification (SBED). Participating teachers will receive Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits.
Our theme for the 2026 conference, “Justice in Action: Teaching Ethics, Innovation & Public Trust” brings together high school criminal justice educators from across the region for two days of professional learning, collaboration, & inspiration.
This two-day conference explores the most pressing issues shaping criminal justice today like emerging technologies, mental health response, restorative justice, forensic science, & community trust while providing teachers with practical, classroom-ready strategies.
Participants will engage in hands-on workshops with expert instructors and curriculum design sessions focused on preparing students for careers in criminal justice while fostering critical thinking, ethical reasoning, & civic responsibility.
Covered topics may encompass:
- AI & Emerging Technologies in Policing
- Mental Health, Crisis Intervention & Behavioral Sciences
- Police Accountability & Community Relations
- Forensic Science in the Classroom
- Career Pathways & Partnerships
- Human Trafficking & Victim-Centered Justice
